Why is my name different than in my passport?

Your e-resident card or Smart-ID has an electronic certificate containing your name that might not be 100% identical with your actual full name in your passport.

Unicount reads your name from your electronic certificate to auto fill personal details.

Certificate name conflict with your passport data that Estonian goverment holds may cause a problem that results in an error message "Enter your name as in passport".

To avoid this error message write your name exactly as in your passport which you used when applying for e-Residency.

Please pay attention to use the same special characters such Ş, Ņ, Ć or Ł that may appear in your passport. Even if they look the same as S, N, C or L they still cause a name conflict for Estonian Business Register.
